Save Koalas This Holiday Season. Without your support, this Trauma Season will be devastating for our Koalas

While there’s a lot of joy and excitement around this time of year, the team here at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is gearing up for another peak in Koala admissions.

Moonbii Body 1

Summer in Australia is ‘Trauma Season’ for Koalas. Last December and January, Koala admissions skyrocketed, as this is when Koalas are travelling around looking for mates. Koalas like Moonbii, who was trying to cross a busy highway when he was struck by a car, leaving him severely injured.

We’re also seeing a massive influx of Koalas presenting with chlamydia – the leading cause of death for their species. Koalas like Keith Furban show up at our hospital suffering severe effects from this disease, including blindness, infection, and infertility..

Summer in Australia is ‘Trauma Season’ for Koalas. Last December and January, Koala admissions skyrocketed, as this is when Koalas are travelling around looking for mates. Only with your support can we stop the threat of extinction. Please help...before it's too late.

Meet Moonbii, Dax, Tumby, Double Dip, Keith Furban and Miss Pook. Whether hit by a car, attacked by a dog, or suffering from a devastating disease, these real koala patients each have their own story.
