I was only a little joey when I was found injured on the ground and alone – my mum was nowhere to be found. My luck changed, however, when I was brought to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital.
After Candice the Vet Nurse and the team at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital completed a full medical workup on me, they found that I had an eye injury and was anaemic. It was a very scary experience to go through without Mum.
Being in the wrong place at the wrong time nearly cost me my life. I was trying to cross a busy highway when I was hit by a car, which meant I suffered major abdominal trauma.
It was a terrifying experience, but luckily I was brought to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital where the team gave me life-saving surgery.
Due to my injury and anaemia, I will need time with the generous network of foster carers at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital before I can be released back into the wild. Without this compassionate support, I don’t know what would have happened to me.
